Dan Kerwood is president of the Southern Adirondack Beekeepers Association and will speak to the Foothills Chapter-ADK Mountain Club's monthly meeting on Wednesday, November 12th at 7 PM at the Gloversville Senior Citizens Center. Reported bee deaths in the news and predictions about our food supply are being made because bees are responsible for the continued existence of many fruits and vegetables. Although Dan will be speaking to us about how to use bees in small gardens and not focus on any bee calamity, he has many anecdotes and insights that will help us understand our buzzing cohabitants. Public is welcome to attend the talk and welcome to join us on our hikes and outdoor events. www.adk.org. Programs on a variety of topics are presented at chapter meetings held at 7 p.m. the second Wednesday of the month. The meetings take place at the Senior Citizens Service Center of Gloversville & Fulton County, 53 Church St, Gloversville, NY. The chapter has its annual dinner at the December meeting.
