The Micropolis Cooperative Art Gallery, located within the Mohawk Harvest Cooperative Market, will hold a “Meet the Artists” reception with a special exhibit of artwork celebrating the Fulton-Montgomery Quilt Barn Trail (FMQBT)— a tourism trail that will visually connect the outdoor landscape with unique quilt barn squares throughout the two counties. The event will be held in the gallery on August 8th between 5 and 7 p.m. Two of the actual barn quilt squares are included in this special gallery exhibit. In support of the trail, Micropolis artists have designed and produced “quilt squares” using traditional and/or non-traditional methods and materials including wood, fiber, paint and prints. FMQBT project organizer Liz Argotsinger will be available to answer qustions and explain how people can get involved or join the trail. Also on display in the gallery will be original artwork by Micropolis artists which includes original paintings, drawings, photographs, fiber collages, mixed media, woodwork, glass, digital art, sculpture, jewelry, batik, and pottery.
