This morning WENT 1340 AM reported that Mayor Dayton King is planning to veto the decision of the majority of the Common Council to put the proposed local law that would revise the Gloversville city charter to a city manager form of government to a referendum vote on the November ballot. This is concerning because it is for all intents and purposes taking away the power of the people to vote for the form of government they wish to have in the city of Gloversville. No matter which side of the debate you are on this decision should be made by all the voters of this city and that was exactly why it was passed by the Common Council in the first place.
