Fly Fishing Tournament

The Fly Shack of Gloversville New York is pleased to announce a Catch and Release Fly Fishing tournament to celebrate its 10th anniversary. The Fly Shack Fly Fishing Tournament will take place Saturday, June 28th, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the Sacandaga River between Wells and Northville, NY. The catch-and-release tournament will award prizes for the 3 longest fish in both Trout and Bass categories. Prizes will also be awarded for "Best in Show" in each category. Prizes will be determined as a percentage of the total of the entry fees as detailed in the tables below. All entry fees will be awarded as prizes. Participants can fly fish anywhere on Sacandaga River between Wells and Northville. Entries are to be submitted by photograph and must include a photograph of the fish on an official tournament measuring device (provided, with a $10 refundable deposit). Registration packets can be picked up at The Fly Shack located at 28 East Fulton Street, Gloversville, NY starting June 9 or on the day of the event. Participants can register by calling The Fly Shack at 1-800-801-2318 or by e-mailing info@FlyShack.com. The entry fee is $15 until June 27 and $20 on the day of the event.

A Day In Gloversville

Gloversville Transit is offering a $1 a ride special on all Gloversville Runs this Saturday! Take advantage of this and join the Rec Commission for a free chess tournament at 9am at the Senior Center (registration begins at 8:30), Antiques N Uniques Lower Level opening celebration with vendors, Farmers Market and Garage Sale Weekend!

The Mohawk Harvest will be open to serve you some excellent lunch items and supply you with a wealth of local products. The Micropolis Art Gallery located within the Mohawk Harvest has a plethora of art of all mediums to view or purchase.

The Phreekshow A Night of Magical Madness will be at the Glove Theatre at 8pm. Tickets are $10.
