Railfest 2014

   The 10th Annual Railfest will kick off at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 2nd at Rail Station Park in Gloversville! Come join us for an exciting day of fun. Some of your favorite local bands will be returning including a special appearance by Flame at 12:40 p.m. at the Gazebo in the park. Oh and all new RIDES for the kids to enjoy between exploring the many CRAFTERS and FOOD vendors! Save the date! FIREWORKS at dusk!

Free Meals for Kids

This summer, the Gloversville Enlarged School District will offer free meals through the Summer Food Service Program to anyone 18 and younger who visits one of the two sites within the allotted times. There is no income requirement and participants do not have to be Gloversville residents.

As part of the program, breakfast and lunch will be provided free of charge at two sites on weekdays beginning July 7 and ending August 15.

Site 1: At Gloversville Middle School, 234 Lincoln St., breakfast will be served from 7:15 to 9 a.m. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Site 2: At Gloversville High School, 199 Lincoln St., breakfast will be served from 7:15 to 8:30 a.m. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to noon.

The program is funded through the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Those interested in receiving more information should contact Teal Carpenter at 518-775-5708.

Strawberry Festival & Chicken BBQ

The Annual Strawberry Festival will be held rain or shine at the Church of the Holy Spirit located at 151 South Main Street in Gloversville on Friday, June 27th, 4:00-8:30pm.  This year there will also be a Chicken Barbecue dinner ($8 per person includes baked potato, coleslaw and roll).  Delicious desserts will also be available - Strawberry Shortcake or Cheesecake with Strawberries for $3.50 each.  Ice cream cones (with strawberries) $1.50. There will be a bake sale with homemade baked goods.  Live music will be performed by guitarist Paul Whitney.  Pre-sale tickets for the barbecue are available at the Parish office; tickets also available "at the door." Come join us for an evening of food and music! Admission is free.
